Vacation

Ann did a GREAT job summarizing our trip out to Indiana. You should read her blog. We liked walking in the rain, running errands, visiting Perdu, and going to the zoo. It was great to see everyone. Sorry, but I'm not going to add any more because Ann has already said it all (with picutres!) on her blog.
New York was a lot of fun too!
We...
Went to a prix fix lunch (really fancy resturaunt)
Shopped
Went Site-seeing: statue of liberty, ground zero, brooklyn bridge, empire state building, central park, subways (oh wait, that's not site seeing), china town, little italy, the met, dowtown NY etc. It was a lot of fun. We really enjoyed the food in New York- so many different kinds. I know Amy and Dan espeicially think I didn't try anything new- but I did and I liked a lot of it. I know Leif especially enjoyed all the different kinds of food- especially the AFRICAN!
All in all it was a great trip. The fact that I haven't posted anything until now does not mean I didn't enjoy myself, it just means that my house is now clean and organized. I'll post some pictures later.
We love you all. It was FANTASTIC seeing you after so long. Thanks for letting us come visit!!!

And the winner is . . .

Well, I really don't like the name of our family blog, I don't think it is very creative.
So . . . Let's have a contest to see who comes up with the best name. List your suggestions as comments under this post. We'll take suggestions until next Sunday, the Sunday after Dad and Jeremiah get back.

There will be a prize. Good Luck.

Dumb Question

Yes this question may sound dumb, but mom when you tile the kitchen is the only "design" going to be in the front entry? And then the rest of the tile will be the same? Please don't tell me that your matching the yellow tile with the plexi glass above the cupboards....I mean if you are thats great...um.. ok that was my question....and then will you tile a splash board above the sink to match?

Baby Quail

Look carefully. There are 8 baby quail.

Beginner

I'm definitely not very good at navigating this site. This was the best I could do to get the drawing of the tile plan on the blog. Sorry.

Kitchen Tile

I'm finally going to do it. Mark and Jeremiah leave for Costa Rica Wednesday so Spencer and I will do the project while they are gone. Hopefully then it won't be quite as disruptive to the family. We are looking at beige tiles, 18x18. The dark yellow is a 4" wide tiled design.

Family Life couldn't be better. We are all enjoying the summer break, especially since Jeff isn't taking any classes.

Having Christy and Lief out here was so much fun, and yes we took them on a 4 mile walk in the rain, but hey they SLEPT through all the major rain storms so really it wasn't that bad. :) Seriously the rain is just part of the Indiana Lifestyle. Grandma and Grandpa Skousen should understand this after living in Hawaii.

I'll post some pics of dads trip out here, it was so much fun, having him here. Mom dad said he'd fly you out here soon, we'll have to keep him to that. j/k We are still planning on comming out for sure in October for Jeff's Brothers Wedding, but we may still make it earlier if Natasha Robinson would ever set a wedding date..... don't count on anything.

I love my calling in church but today was another busy Sunday, Jeff had to teach the Adult Sunday School class so I took Ben, Ehre has a runny nose and slight cough so I kept her too...thank goodness for a wonderful Primary Presidency that LOVES kids, they made things run smoothly while I taught a new song to the kids. The Jr. Primary are slow learners but do well so we never have any extra time, but my Sr. Primary learns so fast and so I had to "on the spot" change things up to make them more interesting. "Opera" Style singing was a big hit! The kids put a finger to their larynx and moved it around to get a "vibrato", all went well till one of my guys raised his hand and informed me, " I don't think thats really how Opera singers do it, I never see their hand on their throats...." well then we stopped the opera style and moved on. :)

We miss all of you and we're really excited that there is this blog set up, so despite the fact that some of us have additional blog accounts EVERYONE needs to respond to this one, I don't want to go fishing on the blog sites to see how everyone is doing.

Love you all
We'll make another post later.
Ann

ps.... Dad INSISTED on riding in the back seat on the way to Chicago. Ehre really didn't get eaten by a shark. And Benjamin always looks handsome, he just can't help it!
